Physiotherapy Assessments via Telehealth (Online Physio) Melbourne

Glen Eira Physiotherapy and Physiolates believe that exercise and education are key components of all injury and post-operative management, as well as vitally important for cardio vascular health and musculoskeletal strength and conditioning. We have therefore been working round the clock to set up our new Physitrak software.

The Physitrak portal is encrypted and secure and allows the physios to complete a consultation with a patient without the need for you to come into the clinic (pretty amazing, we know)!

Physiotherapy Telehealth (online) Appointments

So, what does this portal allow us to do?

We are able to send our physio and pilates clients video clips of home exercises you will be able to do whilst at home.

Initially, this will be most relevant for patients who are of high risk, in quarantine or currently self-isolating.

We understand many of you might not have access to exercise equipment, and we’re thrilled to say that this won’t be an issue as most of the exercises use body weight! Additionally, we are more than happy to mail you out any equipment you may need that we have in stock, including therabands, spiky balls, foam rollers, etc.

To organise a Telehealth appointment:

  1. Call reception and book in an appointment with your preferred practitioner (and make sure you let them know you’re booking a Telehealth appointment, of course!)
  2. We will then email you a link to download the free Physiapp and send you through an access code.
  3. To attend your appointment, all you have to do is:
    • Open the app on your device.
    • Wait for us to call you! It’s truly that easy!

Are Telehealth appointments covered under private health insurance or Medicare?

At this stage Telehealth appointments are not covered under private health insurance or Medicare.

As a result, we have decided to reduce the cost of these sessions by waiving the amount that your insurance usually pays, to ensure you are not out of pocket. The Australian Physiotherapy Association is closely working with the government and private health insurers to resolve this issue quickly and we will let you know as soon as we hear of any updates.

If you would like to speak to one of our team members or make an appointment, please call us on (03) 9571 2111 or book online now.
