Kathryn Rogers - Associate Physiotherapist

I graduated from Latrobe University in Melbourne in 1994 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. I have specialised within the area of Women’s & Men’s Health/Pelvic Floor/Pilates since 1998, completing the Postgraduate Certificate in Physiotherapy (Continence & Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation) in 2002 at the University of Melbourne. I’ve also completed Level 1-4 Clinical Pilates through DMA, and regularly attend professional development events and conferences organised by the Continence Foundation of Australia, the Prostate Cancer World Congress and the APA. I’ve worked in private practice and public settings, both here and the UK, over the course of my 18 years within the pelvic floor/continence field.

The conditions and problems that I can treat include:
• urinary incontinence (including stress incontinence, urge incontinence and mixed symptoms)
• urinary frequency and urgency (with or without leakage)
• faecal incontinence (bowel loss)
• flatal incontinence (poor control of wind)
• mild to moderate prolapse (bladder, uterus or bowel)
• antenatal PF training and postnatal PF rehabilitation
• pelvic floor rehabilitation after 3rd/4th degree tears sustained in childbirth
• painful bladder syndrome (frequency/urgency/pain with bladder filling)
• pelvic floor related dyspareunia (painful sexual intercourse)
• pelvic floor related apareunia (unable to have sexual intercourse)
• obstructed defaecation (difficulty emptying bowels)
• overactive PF muscles (tightness of the PF)
• pre & post prostatectomy PF training for men
