What is Physiolates (Clinical Pilates)
Physiolates is our name that we have given to Clinical Pilates. Clinical Pilates is the ideal way to prevent and manage injuries. Clinical Pilates focuses on developing individual programmes of physio pilates and physiotherapy exercises that aim to treat an injury, tone and stretch your body, correct poor posture, alignment and movement patterns. This will reduce the risk of injury and re-injury in the future.
All our instructors are both qualified physiotherapists as well as accredited clinical pilates instructors. Our programs are individually tailored to your needs and injury to ensure that the program is safe and effective. In addition, our classes have maximum of four per group to ensure personal attention at all times. Our clinic has the equipment for real time ultrasound which enables us to scan the core muscles to check you are using them correctly.
Rebate through private health insurance extras may be available.
An initial consultation is done at the start. We then require that the clients complete a minimum of 5 individual sessions with a physio before joining groups. This ensures that the program is safe and tailored to your needs. Groups have maximum of four per group. Sessions purchased in bulk are at a discounted price and are non-refundable. Pre paid sessions expire 12 months from date of purchase.
BENEFITS OF PHYSIOLATES (CLINICAL PILATES):
Pilates is designed to build strength and lean muscle tone, and improve flexibility by lengthening the body and aligning the spine. This differs from many other exercises which aim to bulk and shorten muscles, and has a variety of health benefits.
Moreover, clinical Pilates focuses on the core which assists in the development of overall body strength. The focus on the core also makes Pilates desirable to individuals seeking rehabilitation from injury as this boosts postural awareness.
Our team have found it extremely effective for:
- Correcting muscle imbalance and posture
- Increasing pelvis, abdominal and shoulder stability
- Reducing risk of injury
- Rehabilitation after injury
- Relieving chronic back pain
- Improving motor control
- Increased joint flexibility
- Enhanced sporting performance
- Greater self- confidence
- Achieving a toned body
