Jodi Hendler - Glen Eira Physiotherapy

 Jodi Hendler

Jodi Hendler graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa with a BSc Honours degree in Physiotherapy. She has been in private practice for the past fifteen years. Jodi has had extensive experience in backs, necks and sports related injuries and has attended a large number of post-grad courses in these areas. In addition, Jodi has a special interest in the treatment of Pregnancy related back ache and pelvic pain as well as osteoporosis. Jodi has participated in a Melbourne university study on osteoporosis and has had experience in designing appropriate exercise programs for such patients.

Jodi has completed level 1-4 Clinical Pilates training through Dance Medicine Australia, a pilates course designed especially for physiotherapists. In addition she has completed Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation courses as well as Pilates for Osteoporosis and Real Time Ultrasound Retraining.

Carolyn Lockman - Glen Eira Physiotherapy

Carolyn has been an active member of the Glen Eira Physiotherapy Centre over the past eight years.  She graduated in 1996 from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy. She has focused her career in the private practice setting with an emphasis on sports medicine over the past 14 years having spent four of these years working in the United Kingdom. As well as working with sporting teams at both state and national levels, Carolyn has completed various post-graduate courses including Levels 1-4 Clinical Pilates at Dance Medicine Australia which compliments traditional physiotherapy techniques in the management of acute and chronic spinal pain. In addition she has trained with the advanced manual therapy associates having gained qualifications in muscle energy techniques. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chelsea Smith - Glen Eira Physiotherapy

Chelsea graduated with Honours from The University of Melbourne in 2003. She has since worked in both the public and private health care sectors and has developed a special interest in sports and spinal injuries, lower limb biomechanics and exercise prescription. She routinely incorporates Clinical Pilates within her daily practice for both preventative conditioning and rehabilitative management.

Chelsea has experience in the post-operative rehabilitation of orthopedic conditions, having been employed in this area in both Australia and the United Kingdom. She has also previously worked with football and running clubs and individual athletes, and is a keen sportsperson herself, having completed the Melbourne Marathon and several half marathons and represented Victoria in Touch Football.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Karen Kelleher

 Karen Kelleher

Karen recently joined the team after completing her Masters of Manual Therapy at the University of Western Australia last year. This Irish Physiotherapist graduated with honours, from University College Dublin in 2006. She started her career in the Irish health service where she gained experience in various areas including out- patient musculoskeletal, women’s health, paediatrics and orthopaedics. In her transition to the private service, she acted as physiotherapist for numerous sports teams in Ireland these included football, soccer and hurling. Her post graduate experience includes a certificate in dry needling and Pilates training from the Australian Physiotherapy Pilates institute. Karen is a keen marathon runner.

Marcus - Glen Eira Physiotherapy

 Marcus Bowler

Marcus has recently joined our team from the UK. He is in the final stages of completing a Masters in Manual Therapy and brings a wealth of knowledge to the practice. Since arriving he has completed Clinical Pilates training at Dance Medicine Australia and has incorporated it into his patient management.

He has worked in various healthcare settings in the UK, the Netherlands and South Africa. Over the past 10 years he has specialised in the management of musculoskeletal and spinal conditions.

Marcus qualified from the University of Manchester in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. He is a keen runner, cyclist and adventure racer.

 Mikala Davison

Mikala graduated with an honours degree in Physiotherapy from Melbourne University in 2000 and has since completed post graduate studies in Sports Physiotherapy. She has a special interest in sports and spinal injuries and functional rehabilitation. Mikala has worked in a sports setting since graduating, including work with the Victorian volleyball teams, national level basketball, the London marathon, the British military and most recently returning from 3 years working as the lead physiotherapist for Cirque du Soleil in China. 

Mikala combines many different skills to achieve optimum results, including manual therapy, dry needling and Clinical Pilates, having completed her Level 1-4 certification with Dance Medicine Australia.

Victor is an accredited Remedial Massage Therapist having graduated with a MCNM Diploma of Applied Science (Remedial Massage) in addition to a Certificate in Relexology. Victor has been a certified and practising member of the Australian Association of massage Therapists since 1997 and is a member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society.

Victor has extensive knowledge in the field of remedial sports massage, having worked as Melbourne's Ajax Senior Football Club's team therapist for a period of 5 years.
